Tyronn Lue is coming home a champion. After steering his team to the NBA title in historic fashion, the Cleveland Cavaliers coach will be taking a break in his hometown and will fulfill his annual tradition of funding the city’s 4th of July party.

Being a rather small town, Lue’s success is felt by its people on a more personal level. As such, a genuine and warm welcome is being prepared for the arrival of their beloved son, per Jason Lloyd of the Akron Beacon Journal.
Tyronn Lue’s annual July 4th party in Mexico, Mo. is getting a little bigger this year. Lue’s hometown is throwing a celebration for the Cavs’ championship Saturday that includes a motorcade, the Mexico Dixie Gray Band and a children’s choir that will perform.
After all the championship palooza, Tyronn Lue’s first order of business will be negotiating (finally) his new contract with the Cavaliers as a head coach. It should be noted that when Lue took over David Blatt’s post, he simply let himself go through the year under his contract as a top assistant. It helped that he was the highest paid assistant coach in the league, but his move, or non-move, also spoke loudly about his dedication to the Cavaliers’ success.

Lue will most likely receive a better contract that what he could have gotten had he pushed for a re-negotiation midway through the year, and in the end his unselfish act will see him get paid.
