Yesterday, word came down the wire stating that J.R. Smith is on the fast-track to recovery from his fractured right thumb. However, not to be rushed, the smooth-shooting two guard took to Twitter for a response after the news broke.
Please don’t believe the hype. Still a ways to go. “Sources” means they have nothing else to write. Trusting my process!”
The report in question stated that Smith is progressing well in his recovery and could return to action next month. While it may be true that he is progressing well, it seems Smith is taking his rehabilitation one day at a time.
Before his injury, “Swish,” as Smith is affectionately known, was averaging 8.6 points per game on 33.7 percent shooting from the field and 36.2 percent from beyond the arc. Needless to say, the Cavs will welcome the 13-year veteran’s marksmanship with open arms when he is able to play. For now, let’s just trust the process, as Smith says.
