LeBron James made history on Tuesday night as he reached the 30,000 point mark in his illustrious career. The feat made him just the seventh player ever in the NBA to score that much, joining some elite company in the process like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Malone, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, Wilt Chamberlain and Dirk Nowitzki.
Understanding how historic the The King’s milestone was, many gave him messages to congratulate him for his achievement. Some appeared in a video made for him, while his fellow players, both from past and present, took to their Twitter accounts to let him know how proud they are for it. Even commissioner Adam Silver gave a statement, as well as the other stars in the league.
Two members of the 30,000 point club also tweeted their congratulatory messages for James, as Nowitzki followed suit after Bryant who already posted his, and also had only but good words to say as he welcomed him to their circle.
Now in his 15th season as a pro and already 33 years old, James is still going strong and does not appear to have plans of slowing down anytime soon. That said, he could further move up the all-time scoring ladder and make a move for one of the top spots in it. Many are still expecting him to play at least three or four seasons at the highest level and if he averages close to his scoring production now, he will have a very strong chance of making it a reality.
