After dispatching the Indiana Pacers and Toronto Raptors in consecutive sweeps, the defending champion Cleveland Cavaliers have a few days off to rest and prepare for the Eastern Conference Finals.

Cleveland’s opponent in the next round will either be the Boston Celtics or Washington Wizards. Currently, their series is tied at two games apiece, with tonight’s pivotal Game 5 matchup expected to be a heated affair.

After today’s practice session at Cleveland Clinic Courts, ESPN’s Dave McMenamin asked Cavs head coach Tyronn Lue about the intricate handshakes his players have been seen presenting to one another after a victory. Keen-eyed Cavs fans know these handshakes well, with each player having his own unique variant. Coach Lue couldn’t help but smile when he heard the question.

“Yea, I’ve seen them,” Coach Lue said with a half-smile and a stare.

McMenamin went on to ask Coach Lue if he has ever seen the players practicing their handshake routines. The second-year head coach quickly disarmed the question with a bit of a joke.

“Umm,” coach Lue said as he shook his head. “I just wish we could remember some of our defensive schemes that well.”

The entire room of reporters immediately burst into laughter. On this day, it was clear that coach Lue was in a good mood.

For good measure, we’ve added a few clips of the aforementioned handshakes, which many of our great readers may have already seen.
