Los Angeles Lakers rookie continues to get serious praise from players all around the NBA.
The latest words of encouragement came from Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love, who lauded about Ball’s professionalism and attention to winning, per Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com.
“You know what I love about him? He just goes about his business and just talks about winning games,” Love said following shootaround Thursday morning, ahead of the national TV showdown against the Lakers. “He says, ‘Nothing really matters unless we’re winning.’ I think him kind of speaking that into existence and also just preaching that at an early age is going to be big for him in the future. I think, more than anything, that’s what I like to see from him. Obviously, when we cross the lines, none of us are friends, but I’ve appreciated him going about his business that way, at least to the media and to his teammates.”
Ball maybe fielding a lot of criticism from others outside of the Lakers, such as the media or fans who want him to score 96 points per game with 45 rebounds and eleventy billion assists. But he continues to receive support from some of the league’s biggest stars.
The fact that so many players are coming to his defense says a lot about what they think of his mentality, and it proves that Ball’s development as a player has nothing to do with what his father says. It’s refreshing to see NBA players realize that and speak to it.
