Last night, the NBA’s defending champion Cleveland Cavaliers squared off against the Golden State Warriors inside Oracle Arena, resulting in a 126-91 run-away victory for the Warriors.
Kevin Love, who scored just three points with three rebounds last night, exited the game with 32.8 seconds remaining in the second quarter. Love took a nasty fall while trying to defend Stephen Curry and did not return to the court. The 6’10” power forward spoke to members of the media after last night’s loss with regards to his injury. Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com recants Love’s quote in his recent article.
This sucks. Bad timing,” Love said. “End of the road trip. Wanted to end it on a positive note. Tough one.”
“I don’t know if it’s a product of that game or it was jumping on the bus or the bed, I have no idea,” Love said. “There’s no real telling how these things come up. I won’t miss anything.”
Love has been dealing with back pain this season, but has only missed four games. Two of the games that Love missed were due to a minor knee issue, another due to food poisoning.
Although Love stated that he doesn’t expect to miss any playing time, the Cavaliers tend to lean on the safe side when it comes to their star players. With the Cavaliers’ six-game West coast road trip now complete, a bit of home cooking could be just what the doctor ordered.
