Los Angeles Lakers rookie point guard Lonzo Ball turned 20 years old on Friday that saw him receive many happy birthday wishes across the league.
Among those was Cleveland Cavaliers star forward LeBron James, who took to Twitter to send out his own personal message toward the Lakers young guard.
It is no secret that Ball has much admiration and respect for James as he has stated that the four-time league MVP is his favorite player even putting him ahead of former Lakers great Kobe Bryant. The personal birthday wishes from the 32-year-old should likely have some special meaning for him given that being the case.
Ball has gotten off to a promising start through his first four games of the season helping lead the Lakers to a 2-2 record while averaging 11.5 points with 9.0 assists and 9.0 rebounds per game. He is currently tied with James for fourth-most assists per contest up to this point in the season.
Although this may simply be a sign of a respect and acknowledgment from the 13-time All-Star, there will be those that twist it with a subtle message behind it all. Regardless of that, it was a nice gesture by James to take the time of his day to send a personal message to Ball.
