Kevin Love got back on track in a big way in Game 2 against the Toronto Raptors. He played 35 minutes putting up 31 points, 11 rebounds, and two assists. He was 2-6 from deep, but each of the three-pointers seemed to come in a really key time of the game.

For Love, it hasn’t been an easy postseason and he has received a lot of criticism. Before his outburst in Game 2, his highest scoring game in the playoffs was only 19 points. In the first round series against the Indiana Pacers he, only averaged 11.4 points.

Love has been getting plenty of encouragement through the struggles from people inside and outside the Cavaliers organization. One guy who reached out was former teammate Channing Frye, who has been in the same shoes in terms relative to struggling during the playoffs.

“I do remember that pretty vividly,” Love told ESPN. “Channing (Frye) called me and told me about his (2010) Western Conference finals where he was like 1-for-19 and that whole deal (as encouragement). I just think there’s ways to get over things and all it takes is seeing the ball go through the hoop sometimes and whatever ailments you’re dealing with, you just have to fight through it because, the team, we need everybody.”

Even though Frye is now on the Los Angeles Lakers, he still seems pretty invested in his former team, as he has been offering advice to the team and tweeting about them most of the postseason. It is kind of surprising how invested he is though because he has already taken to Twitter and said he doesn’t think he will get a ring if the Cavaliers do win the title.
