The NBA’s story of the summer finally reaches its epilogue. The Kyrie Irving drama finished with a trade that sent Irving to the Boston Celtics. Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic, the Brooklyn Nets’ 2018 first-round pick and a future second-rounder went to the Celtics in exchange.
Per many analysts, the trade was won by the Cavs, who built up their squad depth and added a pick they can use for another trade or as insurance, in case LeBron James leaves in 2018. The team lost Irving, but replaced him with a similar player in Thomas, plus added much-needed quality of the bench.
Even though the Brooklyn pick is going to be great, and Crowder is a very good three-and-D player, the main part of the trade for Cleveland was Thomas. The former Kings and Suns player is known for being a hard worker, as he was underrated by teams due to his height. This will bode well with James, who is known for being a hard worker himself.
James posted a picture from his Asia Tour on his Instagram, and Thomas decided to comment a message for his new teammate.
This pairing will be very intriguing to watch. Both of these guys are committed to being better and better each day, and their work-ethic might bring them closer together.
Cavaliers fans should be happy, since Thomas has already shown he has love for the city.
