DeMarre Caroll, who’s probably at home watching the playoffs unfold, tweeted out whom he thinks is the best 3-point shooter in the NBA. And it is none other than his former teammate Kyle Korver of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Caroll’s claims are certainly up for debate. But Korver’s name will definitely form part in determining who’s the best assassin from downtown. He’s fourth all-time in 3-point field goals made, right behind Jason Terry, Reggie Miller, and Ray Allen.
Some of Caroll’s followers immediately replied to his tweet, sending out gifs and photos of Stephen Curry — another marksman, who’s in seventh place in the all-time 3-point field goals list.
Caroll sent out the tweet right after the Cavs’ Game 4 win against the Boston Celtics. In the game, Korver chipped in 14 points and was 2-of-5 from downtown. He was also 4-of-7 from the field.
At 37-years-old, Korver is still in great shape. Perhaps he’s even getting better as he ages. Or maybe he’s just getting better looks from downtown this time, as he plays alongside LeBron James — a pass-first player which sucks in the defense everytime he drives to the hole.
Either way, Korver sticks to his surgeon-like precision of practicing and breaking down his 3-point shot: As per Jeff Zillgitt of USA Sports Today:
“I tried to be as detailed as I could,” Korver said. “As you look at it, some things pull closer towards you. Some things fade away. It’s like that all the time. It’s just kind of the way it is. My understanding of each of these things seems to keep evolving and you spend a lot of time focusing on an area.”
