Recently, the Cleveland Cavs elected to shake things up by trading De’Andre Hunter to the Sacramento Kings in exchange for Dennis Schroder and Keon Ellis, in a deal that also involved the Chicago Bulls. There are just a few days left until the NBA trade deadline later this week, and some are speculating that Cleveland might not be done making moves.

Recently, NBA insider Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints broke down another name that the Cavs reportedly have interest in moving ahead of Thursday.

“Along with attempting to trade (Lonzo) Ball, the latest intel surrounding the Cavs relates to 3-point specialist Max Strus, who has yet to play this season after undergoing surgery in August to repair a Jones fracture in his left foot,” reported Siegel. “Strus has become a focal point in talks surrounding the Cavs in the aftermath of Saturday’s trade, as the team has been discussing the idea of trading him with a few teams before Thursday, sources said.”

Indeed, Strus has yet to make his season debut for the Cavs in what will be his third season in Cleveland. The sharpshooter and former Miami Heat star has been up and down throughout his tenure with Cleveland so far, having some nice moments against the Heat in last year’s playoffs but also struggling mightily in the Cavs’ elimination game loss to the Indiana Pacers.

At this point, it’s unclear what Strus might be able to net the Cavs in a trade, especially given his injury situation, but he does make sense as a possible trade candidate, considering that Cleveland just added a player in Ellis who might provide an upgrade for the Cavs at that position.

In any case, the Cavs are next slated to hit the floor on Wednesday evening on the road against the Los Angeles Clippers as they continue their West Coast trip.
