The Cleveland Cavaliers are at a key point of the season where every wins matter, but injuries have suddenly gotten in the way of what they’re trying to do. James Harden has a fractured right thumb, while Keon Ellis is dealing with a fractured left index finger. The biggest one of them all is Donovan Mitchell, who has missed the past few games with a right groin strain.

With all the other injuries around the league, this is one that many are watching out for, especially if you’re a Cavs fan, according to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.

“I think it’s the most concerning if you’re a Cavs fan,” Siegel said on Clutch Scoops.

Siegel also noted the plan that the Cavs have as far as a potential return for Mitchell in the coming weeks.

“I’ve heard they’re going to look at where he is next week and then they’re going to come up with a timeframe of when to bring him back, assuming he continues to make progress,” Siegel said. “It’s been good as of now; he hasn’t suffered any setbacks. I think we’re operating on a 7-14 day window right now with Donovan Mitchell as far as the earliest he can potentially return, but I don’t think it’ll be until the earliest of the end of next week, and the Cavaliers are just going to push forward with James Harden and the other guys on the court.”

Luckily, the Cavs have built the depth around the team where they don’t have to be in so much trouble with their star player sidelined. Harden is playing through his fracture, and he’s probably going to wait until the end of the season to address it.

As of now, he and the rest of the team will have to step up in Mitchell’s absence, and the hope is that they can continue to make up ground in the standings.
