On Tuesday morning, the NBA released a survey it did on the top point guards in the league. 25 members, including coaches, executives, and players, were asked to rank point guards from the best all the way to number 30. Here’s how the rankings finished, starting with the number 5 point guard:
5. Damian Lillard
Portland Trailblazers point guard Damian Lillard was ranked the fifth best PG in the NBA. He has averaged 21.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 6.2 assists, and 1.3 steals per game in his 3rd NBA season.

4. Kyrie Irving
Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving was voted the fourth best PG in the NBA this season. He is averaging 21.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 1.4 steals in his fourth year in the NBA. Earlier this season, Irving scored 55 against the Portland Trailblazers and then put up 57 against the defending-champion San Antonio Spurs. Hard to put a point guard who’s set some crazy scoring records this low on a list unless the competition was incredibly good.

3. Chris Paul

He is currently averaging 18.8 points, 4.7 rebounds, 10.1 assists, and 1.9 steals per game in what is now his 10th NBA season. He’s continuously gotten better and setting his teammates up while also picking his spots. If there’s any point guard you want to be your floor general, Chris Paul is your guy.

2. Stephen Curry
Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry was voted the second best PG in the NBA. He is averaging 23.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 7.9 assists, and 2.1 steals per game this MVP-worthy season. Really, the MVP race is down to three guards and Lebron James, seemingly including James just out of respect. Curry is also knocking down over three three-pointers per game while dishing eight assists, making him a valuable asset at the incredibly competitive point guard position.

1. Russell Westbrook
It looks like Russell Westbrook is determined to win this season’s MVP. He’s ‘only’ averaging 27.5 points, 7.2 rebounds, 8.7 assists, and 2.2 steals this season. The most impressive numbers however, are in his post all-star game numbers. Since winning the All-Star MVP, Westbrook has averaged 31.4 points, 9.2 rebounds, 11.3 assists, and 2.2 steals! Since the beginning of February, Westbrook also has eight triple doubles and nine double-doubles (triple doubles don’t count).
