LeBron James and the Cavs are beginning their second round matchup against the Atlanta Hawks tonight at home. With the Cavs expected to make a deep postseason run, all talks in regards to the summer are left for exactly then, but that won’t stop former Lakers legend and current VP Magic Johnson from getting an early start on free agency.

Johnson tweeted out on Monday that the Lakers should find a way to get LeBron in town if he decides to opt out and leave Cleveland. He also added that LA should pursue Durant aside from the King.

With the Lakers hiring new head coach and current Warriors assistant coach Luke Walton, hopes seem to be very high for a successful future out in Los Angeles. Unfortunately for them, their future likely won’t include Durant or James.

The Cavs are a top-2 title favorites with an injured Stephen Curry, and Kevin Durant has already been rumored not to want to go to Los Angeles.

On top of that, Magic is a part of the Lakers organization, and is not allowed to discuss free agency until free agency begins. Because of these comments, Johnson may face a heavy fine from the league.

The Cavs and Hawks play Game 1 tonight at 7PM EST and Game 2 Wednesday at 8 PM EST.
