Whew, what an offseason this is shaping up to be. As a result of their recent front office upheaval and all of the trade talk surrounding Jimmy Butler and Paul George, fans of the Eastern Conference champion Cleveland Cavaliers find themselves “lost in the sauce,” as they say — asking, “what’s next?”.

The last thing they want to read is another sad headline, but that’s nearly what they got by way of a now-deleted Facebook post from J.R. Smith.

Earlier this evening, a post showed up on Smith’s timeline with a message that had Cavs fans on high alert. Three words: “Goood Bye CAVS!!”

It seems as though Smith’s Facebook account may have been hacked. Shortly after the post caught fire, the smooth-shooting two guard reassured his fans and followers that he will not be leaving the team.

In his two-plus seasons with the Cavaliers, Smith, 31, has appeared in 164 regular season games, making 157 starts. In his 41 games played during the 2016-17 NBA season, “Swish,” as he’s known, averaged 8.6 points (35% from field and three), 2.8 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in 29 minutes per game.

And as far as everyone know, he’s still a Cavalier.
