The Cleveland Cavaliers community was met with awful news this week. Jennifer Ilgauskas, the wife of former Cavs All-Star Zydrunas Ilgauskas, has passed away at the age of 50.
The Cavs franchise expressed its sympathy for the Ilgauskas family on Wednesday. At the introductory press conference for Donovan Mitchell, general manager Koby Altman said that the franchise is sending its deepest condolences to Zydrunas Ilgauskas and his sons, Deividas and Povilas. “We wanted to acknowledge and give a heartfelt condolence to the Ilgauskas family,” Altman said.
While her husband shined on the court for the Cavs, Jennifer Ilgauskas worked in the health care industry, owning several clinics in Ohio: Rebound Physical Therapy, North Olmsted Urgent Care and Lakewood Urgent Care, according to her obituary. She was also the owner of Darbo, a medical billing company.
“Jennifer’s approach to her professional life was visionary and selfless, executed with a servant heart,” reads her obituary. “She always had ideas for growth and the never ending desire to achieve more. She truly enjoyed working and being a leader who led by example. She cared deeply about everyone she employed, and her door was always open to those who needed to talk. She was generous with her time, finances and counsel.”
A funeral mass will be hosted for Jennifer on Saturday at St. James Church in Lakewood, OH.
