Robert Griffin III did not hold back on his view of the Cleveland Cavaliers following the team’s horrid performance in an elimination game against the New York Knicks on Monday night.

The Cavs were expected to be knocked out by New York after the Knicks went up 3-0 in the series, but Cleveland fans at least wanted to see their team put up a fight in Game 4. Instead, the Cavaliers were utterly dominated for nearly the entire contest, with New York coming away with a 130-93 win to close out the series and clinch a spot in the 2026 NBA Finals.

The former Cleveland Browns quarterback Griffin expressed his dissatisfaction with the Cavaliers’ performance, especially considering what was at stake.

“The Cleveland Cavaliers are being told to take it and like it by the Knicks down as much as 41 POINTS on their home court in a close out game in the Eastern Conference Finals to get swept. This is EMBARRASSING,” Griffin wrote in a social media post on X, formerly Twitter.

Griffin is hardly the only one who is feeling that way about the Cavs, who shot just 42 percent from the field and 28 percent from behind the arc in Game 4. Donovan Mitchell tried to carry Cleveland, scoring 31 points on 9-for-18 shooting.

James Harden, on the other hand, coughed up 12 points on 2-for-8 shooting, while committing five turnovers. Ball security in the face of New York’s opportunistic defense was a game-long issue for the Cavs, who turned the ball over 22 times.

The Cavs finish the 2025-26 NBA campaign with a 52-30 record in the regular season and a deep (but ultimately disappointing) run in the postseason.
