After four months of basketball sobriety, fans are teeming with anticipation as the Cavs kick off the 2017-18 NBA season against the Boston Celtics. Led by their former All-Star scorer, Kyrie Irving, the season opener has become personal for Cavs fans and a spectacle for fans who feed off the drama. However, the plot of tonight will depend on the status of LeBron James, which was still up in the air following shoot around Tuesday morning.
James has been nursing the ankle for a couple weeks. The injury has staggered the gelling process for the Cavs new starting lineup, as it has kept James out for four of five preseason games. Nobody wouldn’t be disappointed if James were to miss the beginning to a renewed rivalry.
The Cavs and Celtics tipoff tonight on TNT at 8:00 pm EST. Cleveland is expected to welcome Irving back with a video tribute. Stay tuned with Cavs Nation for all updates regarding Cavs-Celtics!
