It clear sounds like James is still several years away from retirement as he has plenty enjoyment in the entire process. What also helps is that he’s still playing some of the best basketball of his career despite now being in his early 30s.
James has also made it a point to stay in great physical shape and condition throughout the year, which has contributed greatly to his ability to avoid major injury up to this point in his career. If he can continue to stay on track with that aspect of his health, there’s no reason to believe he can’t continue to play at a high level for several more years.
His desire to continue to compete for championships is an intriguing point brought up by James as there remains much uncertainty about where he will play beyond this upcoming season. That said, if his desire on the court is just that then it would hard to believe at this point that he would leave a situation after three straight trips to the NBA Finals.
