Following Monday’s game between the Golden State Warriors and Dallas Mavericks, there were plenty of conversations stemming from Warriors rookie forward Jordan Bell’s decision to dunk an alley-oop to himself late in the game with his team up by a comfortable margin.

With that in mind, Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James weighed in on the situation with his stance on the side of supporting Bell behind a simple premise, according to Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com.

This could be deemed as breaking one of the unwritten rules in terms of showboating when the game is out of reach. However, the point that James brings up is rooted in just the simple act of stopping the play from happening in the first place.

It had occurred on the fast break with no defender in front of him at the rim, which presented the opportunity for Jordan Bell to make that type of play. It was likely made more so that the Warriors rookie could impress the crowd with his athletic ability rather than show up the Mavericks.

At the same time, it is quite understandable for Rick Carlisle and some of his players to be upset given when it occurred in the game. It is a touchy matter, but plays like this will always draw some sort of ire.
