The Cleveland Cavaliers will be without All-Star power forward Kevin Love on Saturday against the LA Clippers.
The Cavs announced Love is dealing with shoulder soreness.
In 21 games this season for the Cavs, Kevin Love is averaging 17.6 points, 11.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists per contest. The five-time All-Star is shooting 38.4 percent from the field, 36.1 percent from beyond the arc and 90.4 percent from the free-throw line.
After Saturday’s game against the Clippers, Cleveland has five games left in the regular-season. The Cavs are going to finish this season with one of the worst records in the NBA, but they have been playing inspired basketball as of late.
If Love didn’t miss most of the season with a foot injury, Cleveland might have been able to compete for one of the lower seeds in the playoffs. After all, the Eastern Conference isn’t that competitive at the bottom and Love is one of the best players in the NBA.
This season has been about the development of Collin Sexton and Cedi Osman. Both youngsters have had solid seasons. The Cavs have to be happy with how Sexton and Osman have matured over the course of the season.
