After Evan Mobley and the Cleveland Cavs’ 109-94 win against the New York Knicks, James Harden promised it was only the beginning. Harden says the 2025-26 Cavs will level up. Mobley explained why he’s such a believer amidst Cleveland’s seven-game sample since trading a package centered around Darius Garland to the Los Angeles Clippers.
Mobley says he has known Harden over the years but is getting to know him better as teammates, per SiriusXM NBA.
“It’s been great. His coming in, everyone just learning from his mindset,” Mobley said. “He’s been a great player in this league for a lot of years. So, I feel like a lot of us can learn from it. I think that’s what we’re doing right now. Me and him linked up here and there in the offseason before. So, I kind of know him a little bit, but now, we get to really know each other.
“I like what we have right now. A lot of our new teammates — [Dennis] Schroder, Keon [Ellis], and Harden — they all have been doing great, and I think we’re in a great spot, so far.”
Harden and the Cavs are 6-1 since the deadline trade, including impressive wins against the Denver Nuggets and the New York Knicks.

Starting center Jarrett Allen says James Harden makes life easier for the Cavs. Similar to what Evan Mobley relayed, adding Harden gives the Cavs a new edge with a lot of experience in the backcourt.
Allen discussed Harden’s impact for the Cavs, per SiriusXM NBA.
“He’s one of the best guards to play with as a big man. He just came in, made so many looks of mine easy,” said Allen.
Harden has long been known as one of the best playmakers of his generation, forming lethal pick-and-roll duos with centers like Clint Capela throughout his career, and is wasting no time in establishing a similar connection with Mobley, Allen, and the Cavs.
