Kevin Love and the Cleveland Cavaliers recently agreed to a contract buyout. He’s already been linked to teams such as the Philadelphia 76ers and Miami Heat. However, Kevin Love shared an NSFW farewell message with Cavs fans on Twitter after the buyout became official.
“I’ll have more to say soon but want to get this off my chest. To the people of Cleveland and all of Ohio. I f**king LOVE you…and always will. Thank you for everything. More to come,” Love wrote on Twitter.
He wrote “more to come” at the end of his tweet which suggests a lengthier goodbye message will emerge soon.
Cleveland is prepared to move on from Kevin Love as they develop a new core of players. Love will still be missed without question. After beginning his career in Minnesota with the Timberwolves, Kevin Love joined the Cavs in 2014. Love, Kyrie Irving and LeBron James later became one of the best big threes in the NBA.
In addition to winning an NBA championship with the Cavs, Love made two All-Star teams during his nine year tenure in Cleveland. He was the last remaining member of the Cavs’ previous big three as well.
Love has plenty to offer a potential suitor. His veteran prowess alone would benefit a contender, but his talent also should not be overlooked.
As mentioned earlier, the Heat and Sixers are the current frontrunners to sign Kevin Love. He will aim to help whichever team he ends up signing with make a deep playoff run.
