The Cleveland Cavaliers fell short against the Detroit Pistons, 111-101, in Game 1 of their second-round series in the playoffs at Little Caesars Arena on Tuesday.

While there is no need to press the panic button, the Cavaliers might want to rewatch the team’s historic run to the title in 2016 for extra inspiration.

Who could forget the Cavaliers’ gutsy comeback from a 3-1 deficit against the Golden State Warriors? The players certainly don’t, and according to JR Smith, they are planning to celebrate the 10th anniversary of that hard-earned championship.

ā€œWe’re going overseas. Probably going to take a Scotland, Northern Ireland trip,ā€ revealed Smith on ā€œRun It Back.ā€

ā€œA golf trip. These boys want to play 36 (holes) a day. They’re locked in. I’m like, ā€˜Okay, now we’re talking. I don’t know how many holes they’re gonna finish, but we’re gonna see.ā€

Smith was a huge part of that memorable roster, along with LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love, Tristan Thompson, Richard Jefferson, Channing Frye, Iman Shumpert, and Matthew Dellavedova, among others.

They gave Cleveland its first-ever crown, and the Larry O’Brien Trophy has not returned to the city since.

Even after a decade has passed, Smith and company have remained close. Their togetherness was a huge factor in upsetting the Warriors, who had a 73-9 record that season. The Cavaliers genuinely liked playing with each other, and it paid off.

Smith did not divulge more details about their trip, but for sure, it is going to be a riot.

Suggestion: Smith should be shirtless the entire time.
