Cleveland Cavaliers guard Iman Shumpert is known as one of the best defenders in the NBA, but what you might not realize is that he’s also gifted with bars.
On Wednesday, Shumpert released a music video from his upcoming EP, #theytriidit. The song, which is titled Seductive, features animated scenes from a strip club and was directed by his wife, Teyana Taylor, who is also a talented artist in her own right.
“SEDUCTIVE is the first visual single release from “Iman.” being released from his upcoming EP entitled #theytriidit in which he coins the phrase to his wife and songstress, Teyana Taylor. The song is geared toward the encouragement of men taking their wife with them to the strip club opposed to going in secrecy. Directed by Teyana Taylor and “The Aunties” Seductive is a play on the 90’s movie BeBe’s kids. This spin on real life and fantasy land will take you through a very seductive amusement park! Enjoy!”
Fair warning: the lyrics, which seem to flow out of Iman’s mouth with ease, are not suited for younger audiences. Just put your headphones on and let the hook ring out.
“Shump,” as he has come to be known, is beloved by his Cavaliers teammates, and there is no doubt that he has played a crucial role in Cleveland’s recent success. This isn’t his first time on the mic, though. In fact, the former Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket has released several singles over the years, including The Offs and The Name Drop — a pair of tracks that were played inside Quicken Loans Arena during the Cavs’ 2015-16 campaign.
As always, thank you for your time. Let us know what you think of Shumpert’s new jam.
