Both Clevaland Cavaliers big man Channing Frye and Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade will be retired next season. Frye said in an interview that anyone who thinks he sucks at basketball can meet him up at L.A. fitness next season and play him one-on-one.
Wade saw that quote from the Cavs forward and took it to Twitter to challenge his former teammate.
Imagine pulling up to an L.A. fitness to play basketball with your friends, and you see Dwyane Wade and Channing Frye playing. Wade is going to be hanging out in Miami. It’s unknown where Frye is going to be, but the Cavs’ power forward appears to be serious about playing random people at basketball.
Unfortunately for Frye, Wade is no random player. The future Hall of Famer was teammates with Frye on the Cavs for part of last season. Cleveland traded Wade to the Heat and Frye to the Lakers at the 2018 February trade deadline.
Frye may have not put up the best numbers during his NBA career, but he’s giving buckets to everyone at any gym. Casual fans who think they can hang with NBA players who don’t play a lot are in for a rude awakening. These are, after all, the best basketball players in the world.
