Despite a trade impasse during the weekend over the state of Isaiah Thomas’ hip upon further examination, Jae Crowder is already rocking his Cleveland Cavaliers’ gear.
The Georgia native was seen alongside Josh Okogie at Georgia Tech facilities decked out in Cavs gear as part of his offseason workout program.
The deal between Boston and Cleveland could be voided if the injury proves to be of long-term concern.
The Cavs have reportedly asked for Jayson Tatum or Jaylen Brown to be packaged as part of the deal, although Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com denies any talks between the two teams as of Sunday afternoon.
Crowder is the secondary piece of the return bundle thats supposed to head to Cleveland for Kyrie Irving, and one that is set to be a major improvement as a three-and-D talent — two areas of need for the team.
While this deal getting nixed is far from likely, it is still a possibility, as the team has an August 30th deadline to make a final decision on the matter.
If this trade is indeed voided, all pieces would return to their original franchise, with the possibility to re-engage in talks later down the road if both parties remain interested.
