As part of a series of images that were released on Friday morning, three of the Cavs’ court designs for the 2018-19 season were leaked, including their Classic Edition, City Edition, and Core variants.
The Cavs are celebrating their 50th year of service in the NBA this season. Aspects of Cleveland’s “Core” design reflects that achievement. Instead of the team’s name or a sword, the number 50 would rest proudly at center court.
Die-hard Cavs fans will instantly recognize the “Classic Edition” court design. Just think hoop logo and the Brad Daugherty/Mark Price era. That’s right…the popular blue and black color scheme from the 90’s could be making its way onto the court.
The third court design that was revealed for the Cavs was their “City Edition” variant. If this design comes to fruition, it would feature a navy and gold color scheme and a script “Cle” at center court. A “50” logo would also be placed just inside the 3-point line on each side of the floor.
The Cavs finished the 2018-19 season with a disappointing 19-63 overall record, which left the team well out of playoff contention. Hopefully, though, with John Beilein now calling the shots and an influx of young talent on the roster, Cleveland will find their way back into the hunt.
