Floyd Mayweather made history on Saturday night, as he won the highest-paying boxing match in history, as well as extending his unbeaten record to 50 fights. A number of celebrities and professional athletes were in attendance and witnessed him defeat Conor McGregor in his professional boxing debut.

One of them was Cleveland Cavaliers superstar forward LeBron James, who sat at ringside together with his wife, Savannah. He then took to his Instagram account to share of photo of them, while calling Mayweather the GOAT in his caption.

The fight generated a lot of hype as it was the first time a UFC champion has crossed to the boxing ring to take on a legendary fighter like Mayweather. McGregor is a reigning two-division champion, and has been known to be a flamboyant fighter, with the knack for delivering some of the best trash-talking the world has seen. Mayweather, on the other hand, is also fond of speaking his mind, but has always backed it up inside the ring with brilliant performances in the past. There is no doubt he will go down as one of the best boxers ever and will definitely be part of the sports’ Hall of Fame.

Earning The King’s respect is no small feat as he is also considered a living legend of the NBA, despite still playing and having a number of years left in his stellar career. As the saying goes, it takes one to know one, and this could be a great example of that.
