The NBA has some crazy good duos in the playoffs this season, but none are better than the Cavs’ LeBron James and Kyrie Irving. Here are five reasons why, starting with number five:
5. Outside Game Strong
Kyrie Irving is shooting a career high 41.5% from three-point land this season, which is easily a career high. LeBron James is shooting 35.4% from outside the arc, which is also a great percentage for the forward. Both players can take these long range shots off the dribble or in a catch-and-shoot situation, which makes both LeBron and Kyrie a deadly duo.

4. Inside Game Even Stronger
This season has really shown how easy both Kyrie Irving and LeBron James can score from mid-range and at the rim. James shot 53.6% from inside the arc, shooting an average of 7.3-for-13.6 per game. Kyrie was almost as good, shooting 49.1% from the field and making an average of 5.6 of his 11.4 field goals inside the arc. If you think James’ strength was hard to stop, take a look at Kyrie Irving’s crossover and try to stop that.

3. Controlling Tempo
Both LeBron James and Kyrie Irving can play point guard and control the offense as well as the tempo in which the Cavaliers play. Both can go to the basket on a missed shot or even a made basket, and both can slow it down to set up a half-court offense.

2. Franchise Record Breakers
LeBron James (30 pts/9 rebs/7 asts) and Kyrie Irving (26 pts/5 rebs/6 asts) became the first duo in Cavaliers’ franchise history to each tally at least 25 points, five rebounds and five assists in a postseason contest. In three games this postseason, James is a combined +18 while Irving is a combined +19.

1. Complimentary Personalities
Kyrie Irving plays better when he’s aggressive and looking to score the ball. That’s his nature, and he’s always been great at putting the ball in the basket. LeBron is always trying to get his teammates involved in the offense and get thema rhythm while looking for his own shot if he wants to. That makes Kyrie and LeBron the best duo in the NBA with one wanting to score and the other wanting to assist.
