Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James has accomplished loads (and loads) of great feats over the course of his 15-year career in the NBA. He has four MVP awards, three championship rings, 13 All Star nods, and 11 First Team selections to his credit. In Sunday night’s game against the Washington Wizards, however, the former No. 1 overall pick in the 2003 Draft added to his list of accolades, as he passed Hakeem “The Dream” Olajuwon (10,749) for the No. 9 spot on the NBA’s all-time field goals made list. With this three-pointer, James surpassed Olajuwon.
James, now 33 years of age, has been on an absolute tear this season. In fact, he’s posting some of the best statistical figures of his career. In his 30 games played for the Cavs this season, the King has turned in averages of 28.1 points (career-high) on 57.9 percent shooting from the field (40.7 percent from beyond the arc), 9.1 assists, and 8.4 rebounds per game.
Without question, James has played a large role in Cleveland’s success this season. The Cavs have managed to walk away as winners in 16 of their last 17 games, which includes 11 straight victories at home.
With no signs of regression, it seems James’ list of achievements will continue to grow.
