The Cleveland Cavaliers will make their way to Boston on Wednesday for a match-up against the Celtics inside TD Garden, and Jae Crowder is looking for a positive reception.

As most hoops fans know, Crowder, now 27 years of age, was acquired by the Cavs in what became one of the bigger deals of the 2017 offseason — an agreement that sent Kyrie Irving to the Celtics for Crowder, Isaiah Thomas, Ante Zizic, and a pair of future picks in the Draft. Crowder later noted that the trade was a good day in his basketball career.

Both Crowder and Thomas were beloved by Celtics fans, and for good reason. Together, they led Boston to a No. 1 overall seed in the Eastern Conference last season.

“Celtics fans have cheered for opposing team’s players before (i.e. Gordon Hayward),” Crowder told Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe. “I feel like they should do the same for me because I gave them a lot. I hope they give me a little cheer.”

Wednesday’s game between the Cavs and Celtics is scheduled to tip at 8:00 p.m. EST. ESPN and Fox Sports Ohio will have live broadcast coverage. Let’s see how the fans react when Crowder is introduced.
