J.R. Smith has seen the target of trolls on Twitter following his ill-advised behind-the-back pass that allowed the Indiana Pacers to steal the ball and almost send the game to overtime in Game 4 of their first round series on Sunday.
When it was Tyronn Lue‘s turn to be asked to give his thoughts about the Cleveland Cavaliers guard’s questionable play, he joked in front of the media that he did not see it. The reporters had a few laughs while the second-year head coach bowed and shook his head, to let the people inside the room know exactly how he felt.
Fortunately for Smith, the Pacers failed to capitalize on the ensuing play, and the Cavs completed the series sweep. They will now advance to the Eastern Conference Semifinals, where they will wait for the winner of the Toronto Raptors and Milwaukee Bucks matchup.
Lue and the Cleveland faithful are hoping Smith has learned from his miscue and that he will not repeat the same mistake again. Should he fail to do so, it might prove more costly for the Wine and Gold next time, especially with the competition getting tougher as the stakes get higher.
