The Brooklyn Nets have waived Joe Johnson, and now the veteran shooting guard will clear waivers Saturday afternoon when he’ll be able to sign with a new team.
Johnson reportedly knows exactly where he wants to play already, but he’ll have a few other teams interested in him. According to Marc Stein, a lot of playoff contenders want Johnson on their side.

Johnson is averaging 11.8 points, 3.9 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 0.7 steals, and 1.5 three-pointers per game on 40.6% shooting from the field and 37.1% from downtown. Johnson is also shooting a career-high 85.2% from the free-throw line.

Although he holds the nickname iso-Joe, Johnson would bring yet another veteran presence who has had a relatively healthy career and can contribute on the offensive end of whatever team he chooses. According to NBA.com/stats, Johnson shoots 38.5% on catch-and-shoot two-point field goals as well as 44% on catch-and-shoot three-point field goals.
