On Sunday, we received reports via ESPN that Iman Shumpert was being made available through a trade. Shumpert has averaged 6.2 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.0 steals on 38.8% shooting in 24 minutes per game this season. Last year, Shumpert finished the regular season at 7.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.3 steals on 415 shooting in 24 minutes.
His biggest contributions, however, come on the defensive end, and his ability to lock up offensive players whenever the Cavs need him to makes it a bit of a questionable decision to put him on the block. Getting rid of the Cavs best wing defender would be a huge gamble,
NBA Insider for Fox Sports Ohio, Sam Amico, completely refuted that, saying there is no such rumor has even been discussed regarding Shumpert.
Amico Hoops sources strongly refuted the report and said the Cavs have every intention of hanging on to Shumpert, barring an unforeseen major offer.
