Nike has just released their latest short film which is tied to their Black History Month Collection. Headlining the 90-second clip are their most popular endorsers, including LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The film sends a strong message about equality, not just in sports. James’ last line “if we can be equals here, we can be equals everywhere” sums up the message it hopes to spread. Other big name athletes that appeared in it are Serena Williams and Kevin Durant. Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter, Alicia Keys, was also featured in it, together with actor Michael B. Jordan.

James has long been an advocate of helping raise awareness about different socio-political issues and has not been shy of speaking his mind.
During last year’s ESPY awards, he and his friends, Dwyane Wade, Chris Paul, and Carmelo Anthony took to the stage and spoke against racially charged violence.
Nike is not the first company to come up with an advertisement along these lines, not long ago during Super Bowl 51, numerous ads were aired promoting unity. However, given the stature of the athletes Nike has as endorsers, their message should be purveyed on a stronger front.
