Tonight, the NBA’s defending champion Cleveland Cavaliers are in Minnesota for a match-up against the Timberwolves at 8:00 p.m. EST.
After receiving some bad news regarding Kevin Love, who has been ruled out for approximately six weeks with a knee injury, Cavs fans needed to hear something good. Fred McLeod of Fox Sports Ohio provided the lift via Twitter, stating that Iman Shumpert will return to the lineup after missing three games due to a sprained left ankle.
Chris Fedor of cleveland.com reports that Shumpert arrived at The Target Center just before 11:00 a.m. local time to participate in this morning’s shootaround.
He is the bionic man,” Cavs Head Coach Tyronn Lue recently said of Shumpert’s ability to recover in Fedor’s recent article. “He heals fast.”
On the season, Shumpert is averaging 7.8 points on a career-best 43 percent shooting, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game. The savvy defenseman will likely be re-inserted into the starting lineup at shooting guard in place of DeAndre Liggins, who was starting in his place.
