A wave of relief was felt all over Northeast Ohio when the Cleveland Cavaliers were able to get out of the first round unscathed and injury free.
However, that might not be the case afterall.
According to a report by Jason Lloyd for Ohio.com, J.R. Smith was held out of Wednesday’s practice due to a minor groin injury suffered in the first half of their series sweeping victory in Detroit. But coach Tyronn Lue was quick to calm everyone’s nerves.
Nothing very serious. He was still able to move, he was still able to get through the game.
There’s no need to emphasize Smith’s importance to the team. In four first round games, the streaky shooting guard averaged 13.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.8 assists on a torrid 51.5% shooting from long distance.

Smith should be ready when the Cavaliers face the winner of the Atlanta Hawks-Boston Celtics matchup.
