The Cleveland Cavaliers were unable to win the 2015-16 NBA Championship due to the injuries that both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love sustained earlier in the playoff run. On Saturday, however, Kevin Love practiced for the first time in a full-court, 5-on-5 set with his teammates, and felt good afterwards.
Love has since been practicing, and it seems like unclear return date just got a little clearer. According to Cavs’ Head Coach David Blatt, who would not put a date for Love’s return early this week, is now saying that the power forward could return for Sunday’s matchup against the Toronto Raptors.

“He will wait until Sunday in Toronto at the earliest for his first game action since injuring his shoulder during the postseason.
‘Coming along well,’ Cavs head coach David Blatt said Tuesday night. ‘Making progress and hope to see him playing perhaps Sunday. We will see.’
When asked to clarify, Blatt once again emphasized the word ‘perhaps,’ meaning there’s still some doubt. But the Cavs want to get Love some action in a game situation before throwing him into the lineup on Oct. 27, opening night against the Chicago Bulls.
The Cavs have a plan and they intend to stick with it. Even though Love will have to wait a few more days for his debut, the team likes what it sees on the practice floor — a little good news during an off-season dotted with adversity.”
That’s the latest on Love, but stay tuned for more news when it’s released!
