The Cleveland Cavaliers came out and destroyed the Warriors in Game 3 of the NBA Finals last night, and it was largely due to the physicality the Ccavs played with. The 120-90 victory fans saw did not include Kevin Love, however, after he was unable to pass the NBA’s concussion protocol in time for the game.
Coach Tyronn Lue elected to go small and start Richard Jefferson at the small forward spot while moving LeBron James to the power forward spot next to Tristan Thompson. It was clearly a move to go small, but the Cavs athleticism and physicality really got under Golden State’s skin, and it resulted in a 20 point lead after one quarter of play and a 30 point victory when Game 3 had finished.

Many questioned by Lue wasn’t starting Timofey Mozgov to try and equal the Warriors’ size with Bogut, and many fans criticized starting Richard Jefferson over him. He had a great response to those critics before the game, and the game surely backed his move up.

Lue now has a very difficult decision to make on whether he starts Kevin Love in Game 4 or goes with Richard Jefferson and brings Love off the bench.
