The Cleveland Cavaliers donned their city uniforms that spells out “The Land” across the chest in their hosting of the Detroit Pistons. Depending on if you like the uniforms or not might determine the feeling you get when seeing them, but Monday night’s game ended as well as could be expected.
LeBron James pumped out a game-leading 31 points on 11/17 shooting while one of the team’s newest members, Larry Nance Jr. earned a career-high 22 points and 15 rebounds in his first start since coming to the team.
Not only did he fill the stat sheet but managed to dunk on Pistons forward Blake Griffin although the shot didn’t count. That’s the kind of night it was for the Cavs as they routed Motor City’s finest 112-90.
Guard Jordan Clarkson played 20 minutes off the bench while also having an efficient night, scoring 11 points on 50% shooting, and taking home a highlight of his own.
Midway through the fourth quarter, Cedi Osman swung the ball to the corner to an open Clarkson who shot the three, banking the ball from the rim, to the top of the backboard, and down into the net scoring the teams 100th point and dashing any hopes of the Pistons making a comeback with a lucky bounce.
The 6’5 swingman is averaging 12.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.0 assists since joining the Cavs and could likely take the starting spot from a struggling JR Smith if the team decides it needs the offensive spark in the season’s stretch run.
