Tonight, the NBA’s defending champion Cleveland Cavaliers will square off against the Miami Heat inside American Airlines Arena at 7:30 p.m. EST.
It’s a South Beach showdown, but it looks like the Cavs, who are on the second night of a back-to-back set, will be without the services of their Big Three (LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Love). According to Joe Vardon of cleveland.com, all three members are not included in tonight’s official lineup. A right calf will keep James out of tonight’s bout. Irving will be held out with a sore right knee. Love is listed as questionable with an illness.
Earlier today, Cavs GM David Griffin made the decision to call up Kay Felder from their D-League affiliate team, the Canton Charge. It seems that move was a foreshadowing hint that The Big Three could be held out of tonight’s game for rest.
According to their official game day preview, which is still subject to change, the Cavs will start Deron Williams, J.R. Smith, Iman Shumpert, Richard Jefferson, and Channing Frye.
