Cleveland Cavaliers big man Tristan Thompson is making headlines again for all the wrong reasons. This time around, the issue involves a woman who is claiming that the Cavs big man is her son’s father.
A report by TMZ states that Thompson has just filed a lawsuit against Kimberly Alexander for libel charges:
Tristan just filed the suit against Kimberly Alexander … the woman who’s very publicly claimed the NBA star is the father of her 5-year-old son — something he’s repeatedly denied. In the lawsuit, Tristan says the paternity test he took back in January “definitively concluded that [he] is not the father.”
This seems straight out of a Maury Povich episode, and we could almost imagine Thompson jumping and screaming in joy as soon as the DNA results came back negative with Maury saying, “Tristan, you are not the father!”
Then again, Alexander does not seem to care about said paternity test, claiming that Thompson’s camp (including Khloe Kardashian, Thompson’s ex-girlfriend) sabotaged the results. Alexander remains adamant that Thompson is indeed the father of her child, so there’s clearly a major difference in opinion here.
Unfortunately for the Cavs veteran, this is not the first time he has been involved in such a salacious scandal. In 2019, Thompson and Kardashian broke up after rumors emerged that Thompson had cheated on her with the best friend of Kardashian’s younger sister, Kylie Jenner. Thompson has a daughter with Kardashian — 2-year-old True Thompson — and for the record, there appears to be no paternal dispute over True’s father.
As for Thompson’s basketball career, he’s just waiting to see if this NBA season will resume. If it doesn’t, or if the season goes right to the playoffs when it comes back, he may have played his last game in Cleveland. He’s set to be an unrestricted free agent.
