Former NBA forwards Richard Jefferson and Andre Iguodala reminisced about their legendary battle in the 2016 NBA Finals, where the Cleveland Cavaliers completed a historic comeback against the Golden State Warriors.
Even though Iguodala was part of the Warriors, he was game enough to guest on Jefferson’s show, which made a series to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Cavaliers’ milestone championship.
But of course, it also became a flex-off. Jefferson and Iguodala debated over who “caught more bodies” during their careers, as they were both terrific dunkers.
Jefferson mentioned Tim Duncan, Dwight Howard, Dikembe Mutombo, and Alonzo Mourning as his victims. Iguodala, meanwhile, said he posterized Duncan, Mourning, Yao Ming, Paul Pierce, and Rasheed Wallace.
“You really think you got more bodies than me? More hops is one thing. But more bodies? I was a body collector, bro,” said Jefferson.
Of course, it was all in good fun.
Jefferson and Iguodala never became teammates, although it nearly happened twice. Iguodala arrived at Arizona a year after Jefferson left to enter the NBA. Iguodala was signed by the Warriors a season after the team traded Jefferson to the Utah Jazz.
Just imagine how lively the locker room would be had they been on the same team. They would probably have a dunk tally after every game.
For the record, Iguodala had 1,504 career dunks, while Jefferson logged 1,257 career slams, according to Basketball Reference.
Meanwhile, Jefferson has now joined the group of LeBron Smith, Kevin Love, JR Smith, Channing Frye, and Tristan Thompson in their championship reunion in Europe, where they have been playing golf, drinking wine, and having a grand time.
