Though he’s a native of Akron, Ohio, it’s a fairly well-known fact that Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James has a certain affinity for the Dallas Cowboys, as well as some of the team’s players.
As a gift, James, who was a standout football player in his own right at St. Vincent-St. Mary’s High School, decided to send a pair of his LeBron 15’s in the “Ashes” colorway to Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant, his long-time friend.
This isn’t the first time the King has sent Dez a gift. Prior to the start of this year’s NFL season, James sent Bryant a special care package, which included a set of Beats by Dre headphones and a pair of LeBron’s Soldier line of kicks. Bryant sent out a tweet to express his gratitude, citing James’ famous “Strive for greatness” message in hashtag form.
In 2015, James sent Bryant a package containing a special edition pair of LeBron 12’s and several cans of Sprite’s popular beverage, “LeBron’s Mix.”
It seems as though the bond between James, a known motivator, and Bryant, one of the best to ever catch a football, is as strong as ever. Let’s see if Dez counters LeBron with a care package of his own.
