In the past, Cleveland Cavaliers marksman Kyle Korver has praised LeBron James’ game. However, after witnessing the King’s performance in Tuesday night’s 123-114 win over the Atlanta Hawks, Korver was at a loss for words.
James, now in his 15th season of NBA service, put on yet another show for the fans inside Quicken Loans Arena, scoring 25 points on 11-of-13 shooting from the field, a career-high tying 17 assists, seven rebounds, and two steals in 35 minutes of playing time.
“Yea, he’s uhh… It’s like I’ve run out of ways to explain his greatness,” Korver said of James after Tuesday night’s win over the Hawks. “He’s just amazing. He makes all of us better than we really are — just the way he plays, the way he reads the game. He’s had to be in attack mode a lot of night’s this season, but tonight he kind of felt the guys were hitting shots. He just went into play-maker mode. He was really looking for those passes. He has an ability to feel the game, and he can do whatever the game is calling for, whether it’s him being the scorer, getting down in the post, or knocking down threes. He’s just kind of finding the whole thing right now. He’s playing really good basketball.”
Korver is right on the money when he says James is “playing really good basketball” right now. In fact, some argue that this is the best season of James’ career. In his 28 games played for the Cavs this season, the former No. 1 overall pick in the 2003 Draft has turned in averages of 28.2 points on 58.3 percent shooting from the field (42.2 percent from beyond the arc), 9.0 assists (career-high), and 8.2 rebounds.
James and the Cavs will look to keep their momentum rolling on Thursday night when they host the Los Angeles Lakers. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. EST with Fox Sports Ohio and NBA on TNT having live broadcast coverage.
