The Cleveland Cavaliers didnāt have much turnaround time between their epic Game 7 victory over the Detroit Pistons and the start of the Eastern Conference Finals against the New York Knicks. Now, things are unraveling very quickly for Kenny Atkinson and company.
After losing a massive lead in the fourth quarter of Game 1, the Knicks have rolled that momentum over into two more wins to take a commanding 3-0 series lead. New York is now just one win away from the NBA Finals while Cleveland must pick up the pieces and try to get back into the series.
Atkinson and his squad are taking things one thing at a time. After the game, he revealed the mindset that he and his team are taking into Game 4 on Monday night.
"Get one. Get one and then we'll go from there."

āGet one. Get one and then weāll go from there,ā Atkinson said. āItās win one our pride, team pride, individual pride. Get one and weāll go from there.ā
The Cavs canāt afford to look ahead to later in the series against a Knicks team that has now won 10 games in a row. Cleveland is certainly feeling the effects of playing a pair of seven-game series in a row to get to this point, while New York is the much fresher of the two teams.
However, as we have seen time and time again, one win can change the way things feel in a series. Cleveland has shown the ability to bother the Knicks with its length on the interior and its perimeter scoring, primarily from Donovan Mitchell. A win at home on Monday night would put some pressure on New York heading back to Madison Square Garden for Game 5.
There is no question that Cleveland is going to have to play much better to make this a series. Mitchell and James Harden must play like superstars, and the Cavs need more production than they are currently getting out of the bench.
Game 4 between the Cavs and the Knicks will tip off at 8 p.m. EST on Monday night in Cleveland.
