The Cleveland Cavaliers continue to be on a roll, as they spoiled LeBron James’ possible final game in his old stomping grounds on Wednesday night. Coming off a win against the Orlando Magic, Cavs took down James and the Los Angeles Lakers in a decisive 129-99 victory at Rocket Arena in Cleveland, with second-year guard Jaylon Tyson giving his team a nice boost.

The 23-year-old Tyson finished second on the team in scoring versus the Lakers, racking up 20 points on 8-for-15 shooting from the floor and 3-for-7 shooting from the 3-point region. In addition, the Cavs’ first-round pick in the 2024 NBA Draft grabbed six rebounds, dished out six assists and recorded a steal in 29 minutes of action.

Tyson also got attention with his gesture after a ref called a violation on the Lakers.

After a ref motioned an offensive foul call on Los Angeles, Tyson tried to mimic the official, as though he was a wide receiver celebrating a first down.

The Cavs surely are in a celebratory mood still after the game, as they extended their winning streak to five games and improved to 29-20.

Donovan Mitchell paced the Cavaliers against the Lakers with 25 points on 9-for-21 shooting.

Cleveland was only up by two points at the half, but the Cavs got it going in the third quarter, where they outscored the Lakers by 20 points (42-22). After a 57-57 tie, Cleveland went off on a 25-8 run to break the game open, taking care of its big lead to preserve the victory.

Looking ahead, the Cavs will kick off a five-game road trip in a Friday matchup versus the Phoenix Suns at Mthe ortgage Matchup Center in Phoenix.
