The Cleveland Cavaliers were able to get the Game 7 win against the Detroit Pistons in dominant fashion, and they will now head to the Eastern Conference Finals to face the New York Knicks. It was another long series for the Cavs, and many thought after their loss in Game 6 that they weren’t going to be able to go on the road and seal the deal.

It was Donovan Mitchell who led the way for the Cavs, as he finished with 26 points, six rebounds and eight assists. Before heading to his first career conference finals appearance, he spoke with the NBA on Prime crew, and Udonis Haslem offered an apology to the Cavs’ guard.

“Congratulations for advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals and also congratulations to y’all for shutting me up,” Haslem said.

Mitchell asked Haslem what he said, with Haslem jokingly replying, “Don’t worry about it.”

“I ain’t gonna lie: I seen the YouTube. I saw you say something, but I don’t know what you said. I kinda skipped by it quick,” Mitchell said.

Haslem was one of the people who didn’t have faith in the Cavs to get the job done, but at least he owned up to what he said and apologized.

As for Mitchell, he was able to quiet the noise surrounding him, not being able to get over the hump in the postseason, as the farthest he’s ever been is the second round. This is a big step for Mitchell, but the job is barely done. They now have to face a Knicks team that has been resting for the past week after sweeping the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Cavs have the talent to keep up with the Knicks, but it won’t be easy for them, and they know that after already being in two Game 7s this postseason.
