The Cleveland Cavaliers are in a must-win situation for Game 3 against the Indiana Pacers as they’re down 2-0 in the series. There have been a few things that have not gone right for the Cavs through this series, and one of them is injuries. In Game 2, the Cavs were missing three key players, and it’s uncertain if they will be back for Game 3.

Another person to look out for as far as injury is Donovan Mitchell, who is dealing with a calf injury despite dropping 48 points in Game 2. After the game, Mitchell was asked if he was playing through an injury, and he responded with “We all are. It is what is.”

Some are skeptical about his status as Game 3 looms, but head coach Kenny Atkinson gave fans a sigh of relief on his star player.

“Cavs head coach Kenny Atkinson said he doesn’t anticipate to have Donovan Mitchell carrying any injury label or designation heading into Game 3 against the Indiana Pacers,” Evan Dammarell of ClutchPoints wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Mitchell seems like he’s the Cavs’ only hope at this point, and he’s going to do whatever it takes to will the team to a victory. Hopefully, the Cavs can get back the rest of their key players and get in the win column.

Cavs dealing with injury issues down 2-0 against Pacers

The Cavs came into their series against the Pacers with injury issues, as Darius Garland has missed the first two games because of a toe injury. Garland also missed the last two games of the first round, but the Cavs were still able to take care of business. Now, with a team like the Pacers, they’re going to need all hands on deck if they want to extend the series.

Evan Mobley missed Game 2 because of an ankle injury, and the Cavs missed his defensive presence on the floor. The hope is that he can return for Game 3 and help the Cavs on both sides of the ball. De’Andre Hunter was the other player sidelined for the Cavs as he was dealing with a dislocated finger.  All three players are listed as questionable going into Game 3, and the hope is that they can return as they’re facing a 2-0 deficit.

Mitchell did all that he could do in the last game, but apparently, it wasn’t enough.
